When it comes to choosing a new kitchen there are plenty of choices, some easier than others. Luxury kitchen worktops have always been a difficult choice to make but to help, we have come up with a run-down to explain some of the options available from our showroom in Chester.
Granite
A granite worktop oozes sophistication and creates an impression of style and quality. What’s more, granite is extremely durable and easy to maintain and with plenty of choice in terms of colour and finish, finding a granite worktop to match with your kitchen is usually easy to do.
Quartz
Suitable for all types of kitchens, Quartz is produced when stone is blended with a special resin, resulting in a quartz-like surface. Aesthetically pleasing and particularly hardwearing, Quartz makes a good alternative to granite and it is easy to maintain.
Corian®
Attractive and versatile, a Corian® worktop has it all! Available in a choice of over 70 colours, Corian® makes an aesthetically pleasing option. It can be installed with no visible joins, perfect for when a minimalist finish is a must! One thing to think about is that, as it is machined and manufactured using woodworking tools, it can be easy to damage if adequate protection is not used.
Wood
The natural beauty of wood always looks good and with a range of finishes to choose from, finding the perfect match for your kitchen is easy. With their wonderfully tactile finish and warm tone, a wooden surface makes a great investment. Unlike other surfaces, they do require some maintenance including a regular coating with oil. Burns, scratches and other marks can be removed by sanding.
Porcelain
As porcelain is now available in large formats, it is fast becoming one of the most popular choices for kitchen worktops. This is due to its hard, durable nature and can withstand burns and scratches easily. Porcelains ‘stock’ thickness is usually 12mm meaning it is a great choice for contemporary, sleek kitchens but it can also be formed up to thicker sections for the chunkier, more classic style kitchens.
