WHAT WILL THIS ROLE OF FINANCIAL CONTROLLER ENTAIL?

Reporting to and working closely with the Managing Director and other 3 Directors, as the Financial Controller you will be critical to maintaining the regular accounts of the business but also active engaged in the delivery of number to steer decision making.   You’ll be supported to develop your knowledge and skills, enabling you to progress and take sole responsibility for the business finances. Your duties will include although not be limited to:

  • Building and presenting the month Profit and Loss report to Directors
  • Producing and communication weekly KPI’s on Sales and Operations
  • Conducting a daily update of the accounting system and cash flow model
  • Matching supplier invoices to purchase orders and ensuring payment to suppliers against agreed terms
  • Producing customer and supplier statements
  • Calculating sales staff commissions
  • Raising sales invoices through Clearbooks
  • Chasing outstanding payments by phone and in writing
  • Ensuring sales ledger is up to date with payments received
  • Reconciling accounts on a daily basis
  • Monitor and update data used for cash/pricing – e.g. Standard Labour Hour rate Conducting stock evaluation with support from key personnel
  • Analysing profitability and presenting to senior personnel

WHAT WILL I NEED IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS FINANCIAL CONTROLLER VACANCY?

  • Completed studies to least AAT Level 3
  • Must have good business acumen
  • Good knowledge of computerised accounting systems. Experience of Clearbooks would be advantageous.
  • Good analytical skills, with knowledge to review and analyse P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Superb communication skills, with the ability to develop good working relationships both internally and externally
  • IT literacy with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Highly organised and diligent, with a flexible and systematic approach to work

Salary: £27,000 to £37,000, level dependent on experience and qualifications.  (There is scope for further incentives based upon project deliverables)

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4.30pm
